Polaris nominees and tix to Solids

Polaris Music PrizeCanadian music critics come together every summer to award one Canadian album the Polaris Music Prize. Awarded without regard to genre, professional affiliation, or sales history, the Polaris Music Prize is one of the most coveted awards in Canadian music. Past winners have included Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Feist, Arcade Fire, Karkwa, Fucked Up, and Caribou, to name just a few.

The 2014 long list was announced last week and includes repeat nominees like Arcade Fire and Owen Pallett, along with other indie Canadian acts such as Chromeo, Kalle Mattson, Mounties, PUP, Solids, and Timber Timbre.

This week on This Great White North, we’ll bring you these artists and more. Plus, we’ll be giving away a pair of tickets to see Solids, playing June 30 at Holy Mountain!
